YBhg Datuk Sr Firdaus Musa Shares Insights on Innovation and Sustainability at MAREC 2024
Our Group Managing Director and President of FIABCI Malaysia, YBhg Datuk Sr Firdaus Musa, was invited as one of the distinguished panelists at the Malaysian Annual Real Estate Convention (MAREC) 2024, organised by the Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA). The convention, held at Avante Hotel, Bandar Utama, gathered hundreds of real estate professionals, industry leaders, and innovators under one roof to explore the evolving landscape of the property industry.
With the theme “How Can Innovation Contribute to Sustainability in Real Estate Business”, Forum 1 served as the curtain-raiser for this year’s MAREC — setting the tone for forward-thinking discussions that blend technology, sustainability, and professional ethics in real estate practice.
Moderated by Sr Lim Boon Ping, Past President of MIEA, the forum featured a distinguished panel comprising Tan Kian Aun, President of MIEA; Sr Hj. Adzman Shah Hj. Mohd Ariffin, President of RISM; and YBhg Datuk Sr Firdaus Musa, President of FIABCI Malaysia.

During the session, Datuk Sr Firdaus Musa shared valuable insights on how innovation and digital transformationare reshaping the real estate profession. He emphasised the need for real estate agencies to embrace technology not as a threat but as an enabler of efficiency, transparency, and customer engagement. Datuk highlighted the increasing importance of tools such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms, automated listing generators, and AI-driven chatbots — all of which streamline workflows, enhance client experience, and allow agents to focus on strategic and relationship-based aspects of their work.

He also noted that integrating technology into day-to-day operations ensures sustainability and competitiveness, especially in a market that is rapidly evolving with digital expectations and new business models. Innovation, he shared, must be accompanied by continuous learning and ethical responsibility — ensuring that technology complements human professionalism rather than replaces it.
The session drew keen interest from participants, sparking lively discussions on how Malaysia’s real estate industry can remain future-ready, sustainable, and globally relevant.
MAREC 2024 once again proved to be a premier platform for knowledge sharing, professional growth, and networking among the nation’s real estate practitioners. For the Firdaus & Associates Group, the event provided meaningful exposure and reinforced its reputation as a thought leader committed to innovation, sustainability, and professionalism in real estate.
