Sr Nor’Azlan bin Mohd Zain started his career in 1986 after obtaining his BSc Estate Management degree from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh, United Kingdom. Initially a valuation executive based in Johor Bharu for a local property consultancy firm, he moved up to become the manager of the firm’s Alor Setar branch and subsequently promoted to senior manager at their Head Office in Kuala Lumpur.

Sr Nor’Azlan then started his own small property consultancy firm in 1992 before joining Chesterton International Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a UK based property consultancy firm as their Associate Director and subsequently promoted as a director and a shareholder of the firm in 1993, in charge of their Malaysian operation. The firm then changed their name to JAZ International Malaysia Sdn Bhd in 2002 after the logo agreement with Chesterton International PLC expired.

Sr Nor’Azlan Mohd Zain has more than 34 years’ experience in property consultancy from valuation, estate agency, property consultancy, research, property market assessment and also property and project management. He has done valuations for both land and buildings; and Plant, Machinery & Equipment (PME) for various type of properties including development lands, quarry, office towers, shopping complex, plantations, shipyards, hotels, industrial buildings, golf courses, crew and tug boats, vessels, machineries, diapers plant, RO water plants, sawmills etc for various purposes from financing, purchase, insurance and capital issuance. He has a special interest towards planning studies (Development Master Plan, Local Plan & Special Area Plan) and the development of ‘Science & Technology Parks’. Collaborating with Chesterton’s Perth office, he was involved in a number of Technology Park studies and projects within the region including the Perth Technology Park Bentley, WA and the Indonesia Republic Technology Park pre-feasibility and blue print study in Surabaya in the mid 1990’s. He was also a speaker in the International Association of Science Park (IASP) Asian Chapter conferences.

He is a registered valuer, estate agent and property manager registered with the Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents & Property Managers, Malaysia (BOVEA), a fellow of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM), a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors UK (RICS) and The Institute of Revenue and Rating Valuation, UK (IRRV). Malaysian Institute of Professional Estate Agents and Consultants(MIPEAC) and a member of Malaysia Institution of Property and Facility Managers(MIPFM).

Sr Nor’Azlan Mohd Zain is currently in charge of the business development and corporate services for the Head Office in Wangsa Maju, Kuala lumpur.
